Tom Whitaker started in landscaping the old-school way: long days, muddy boots, honest work, and one satisfied homeowner telling another. Over the years, he learned what actually works in Central Kentucky: which plants can handle our hot summers, which designs hold up through heavy rain, how to build clean bed lines, and how to make a landscape look natural next to a beautiful Lexington home.
His son, Cole Whitaker, grew up around the business. He learned by riding along to estimates, loading plants, cleaning job sites, and watching his dad solve problems most homeowners never see coming. Today, Cole helps lead the company’s next chapter, bringing stronger planning, communication, and project management while keeping the same craftsmanship Tom built his reputation on.
Together, they run Lexington Landscaping Co., specializing in high-end residential landscape renovations across Lexington and Central Kentucky. Their work includes full front-yard transformations, foundation bed renovations, privacy tree installs, planting designs, grading improvements, mulch and stone bed upgrades, and complete outdoor refreshes for upscale homes.

Tom Whitaker started with a single truck and a push mower, focusing entirely on residential lawn maintenance in South Lexington.
